Well, this is strange. Or at least I think it is; you guys can be the final judge. To celebrate the global Fashion Weeks (which kick off today everyone say a little prayer for me and my sanity) this season, Miu Miu is launching a grand total of 46 one-of-a-kind bags starting with 16 at the brands Prince Street boutique in New York. The bags went on sale this morning, with the remaining 30 showing up in London, Milan and Paris over the next few weeks.

All of the designs are a variation on the same theme a small, ladylike satchel with an oversized frame that made its debut on the Spring 2012 runway.

I travel a fair amount, so I am well familiar with the ins and outs of beauty on the go. When I pack my makeup bag, I tend to go for flat eye shadow palettes, multi-use products, and anything that comes in pencil form. I’ve got an always packed makeup travel bag, so at the drop of a hat I’m more or less ready to jump on a plane – often what I do is just switch out the products I haven’t used in the last few trips with something new and exciting I plan to review for the blog soon. For my latest trip to Trinidad, I made the unusual decision to completely repack my travel makeup bag. My existing bag had become overloaded with products I wasn’t even actually using on my trips, and of course a trip to the Caribbean called for makeup that would last in sweltering temperatures and high humidity!

Ladies, heres your fun fact for the day: Before Monica Botkier started her awesome handbag line, she was a professional photographer. It only makes sense, then, that Monica would step back behind the lens to shoot a campaign for her bags from her own photographic perspective, but somehow, Botkier Spring 2012 is the first time that shes done it.

The results are a set of simple, clean images that represent the bags well. Botkier seems to be stepping a little further into the realm of color than it has in previous seasons, and the pastels and brights in these photos fit with the seasons trends particularly well.
