No, this is not about shoes..not really about fashion, although in a round about way, it is how you choose to present your platform

 

I laughed! I cried! I frantically looked at the clock and thought, Please God. Stop Time. Now!

She taught me how to enjoy the journey of finding my own platform.  I spent my 20s and 30s trying to be comfortable with doing one thing and fitting into expectations of others.

The thing is, I realized that doing one thing does not reflect my different interests or personality.   So, I started to figure out what different aspects of my platform made me happy and worked to get there.

In one of Oprahs last interviews she talked to Maddie Stepaneks mother.  You remember Maddie, the boy with Musular Dystrophy, who spoke like a prophet?  According to his mom, Maddies last full sentence was, Choose to inhale.  Do not breathe only to exist. W

Reading the news, watching at the video (which you can watch right after the jump), watching it again and again and I still can’t believe my eyes! Versace for H M? This is major fashion news! At least for the average fashpeople.

Donatella Versace was so impressed with the way the collection turned out that she actually chose a gold studded leather dress for her bow at the end of the Versace Men’s Collection which was just presented in Milan. I know this will make the rounds of the interwebs for days and days, so mark your calendars, fashionable ladies and gents, November 19th 2011 is the day the new Versace H M collection will hit H M stores around the world!

Recreating Rihanna’s Side Braid

At the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty Costume Institute Gala At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art last night, Rihanna was stunning from head to toe, but her flaming red braid easily upstaged her sheer black Stella McCartney gown.

To achieve Rihanna’s look, create a deep side part in your hair and begin braiding one cornrow with more hair on one side, and another with less hair on the other side. You can add hairpins throughout to keep the braid in place. Cross the cornrow with more hair around the back of your head at the neck to join it with the smaller cornrow, and then create one long braid to hang at the side.

Would you have recognized the model from this picture if I had not tell you who she was? Because although I like her features a lot and think she’s pretty outstanding, this makeover totally surprised me.
